Our very own Alex Salazar & Jennifer Nye recently sat down with the Tax Credit Advisor as part of their Health Secure Housing - Talking Heads series to discuss potential development opportunities for existing shopping malls. In their conversation, they explore how our firm's specialization in community design could conceivably be applied to converting shopping malls to increase the supply of affordable housing while creating a number of associated community benefits. Using the Lloyd Center in Portland as a test case, Alex & Jennifer discuss potentially relevant housing typologies, applicable planning strategies, the future of retail and office space, and equitable access to transit and jobs. Here is a link to the full article.
