CLTRE House
Attainable housing to support artists and creative communities
CLTRE House is a new three-story, 53-unit live/work development in North Sacramento that brings attainable housing and cultural vibrancy to the Del Paso Boulevard neighborhood. Inspired by the neighborhood's Art Deco architecture, CLTRE House offers a space for creatives to live, work, and gather. The lobby serves as a flexible space, designed to be activated as a gallery and to host rotating exhibitions and other special events. A lounge on the ground floor serves as a co-working space for residents with small seating areas and private phone booths. Ground-floor loft apartments can be used as live/work spaces with retail areas accessible from the building’s courtyard. The parking lot can serve as an extended gathering space, accommodating food trucks or tents during events. The three-floor building uses an open corridor concept, with common spaces programmed to include informal gathering areas, such as small seating areas at widened corridors.
The housing will be affordable by design, not reliant on specific subsidies or public funding. It’s intended to provide workforce housing focused on the arts, creating a culturally rich space that supports this vibrant community. Located on the site of a former beloved furniture store, the site has been a neighborhood anchor for decades. CLTRE House intends to extend the legacy of the space by providing a place for artists to thrive.
