mixed-income affordable supportive housing
Gateway 99 was the initial 2008 schematic design for what became the Glisan Commons Phase I and II sites in 2011. Our initial design combined supportive housing, condos and commercial space with a total of 166 apartments (including 135 affordable), 35,000 square feet of commercial space, and a large 19,000-square-foot landscaped community space on the second floor featuring rain gardens and water recycling. Due to project financing difficulties during the Great Recession, ownership changed and the project was later developed by a different developer-architect team at a smaller scale.
