Las Adelitas

affordable family housing with a public plaza and event hall

Las Adelitas affordable family housing takes inspiration from culturally specific elements and the triangular form of the site to create a unique aesthetic representative of the diverse Cully neighborhood. The building is the outcome of a 4-year community process with deep environmental, social and economic benefits. Clad in metal and cementitious panel siding, the design integrates a community mural facing the central public plaza with ample space for food carts and a playground. The design provides a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments with community spaces, offices, classroom, food cart prep kitchen and a community event hall.

The existing building has recently been demolished. See here for more information.
